A logo animation I did at Barbaro Studio… for Barbaro Studio! I used both traditional frame by frame animation in Photoshop and some post-production in After Effects. I feel really proud of the result! It really captures Barbaro's growing badass and wild brand, as well as some of its handmade, crafty qualities.

Bárbaro is a digital agency that offers, among others, video and motion design services. It only makes sense that its own visual identity would be accompanied by sound and movement, using animation to bring the brand itself to life.
At first, I was trying to do it all in After Effects, but then I decided nothing looks quite like the real deal, and doing the liquid animation frame by frame allowed for a lot more control over the timing and spacing than I could ever expect from AE.
Of course, the result wouldn't be the same if it wasn't such a cool looking identity in the first place.
Bárbaro now has a recognizable animated identity that goes hand in hand with its online presence, opening and closing the videos that the studio now showcases in its social network accounts.
